Context &

Problem

At Yampi, an e-commerce SaaS platform, the team identified a need to validate dashboard usability used by merchants to manage sales, metrics, and integrations. As a Product Designer, I led the research process and translated findings into strategic insights for the product’s evolution.

The dashboard had usability barriers that made it harder for merchants to make decisions. Unclear metrics and difficult navigation caused frustration and reduced operational efficiency.

Process

I conducted remote moderated usability testing with predefined tasks and merchants of different business sizes, using a structured script and screen recordings to observe real interactions with the dashboard.

The process included:

Defining test hypotheses and objectives with the product team;
Creating scenarios and tasks representative of merchants’ daily work;
Collecting qualitative and quantitative feedback (completion time, errors, and satisfaction).

Solution

The analysis revealed critical issues, such as difficulty finding key information and inconsistent visuals in complex flows.
Based on this, I proposed:

Redesigning the information hierarchy in the dashboard;
Adjusting navigation to make flows more intuitive;
Standardizing UI components aligned with the Design System.
These solutions were prototyped in Figma and validated through fast iterations with engineering and stakeholders.
